Our client is a world-leading consumer electronics company looking to take on a Senior Industrial Designer in London. This is an important role where the designer will lead and motivate within creative design projects with the view to accelerate the innovative leaps taken by the firm within the global industry.
Our client is involved in many sectors of consumer electronics. They have become one of the industry leaders in audio, laptops, tablets and wearable technology. The successful candidate will be involved in innovation across all sectors, and fundamentally a keen creative.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Clear indication of innovative design within the field of consumer electronics. Our client wants a talented designer who is not afraid to break norms and challenge current iterations.
An appreciation for the aesthetics of designs is key. The client wants to take on a designer that can innovate in the form as well as function in a component-driven industry.
Demonstrate an understanding of brand and market. This role has opened due to the company's desire to elevate within the industry and shift the brand position within the market. A successful candidate will be able to design with the brand in mind.
This is a key appointment in the company's design strategy. In order to attract the best quality of candidate the pay rate will reflect this, paying between £100,000 - £120,000 over the year. This is a 1-year contract, with the possibility of going permanent following the 12 months as a Senior Creative Designer.
Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, while developing a strong design strategy/solutions that are based on consumer, brand, and business perspective.
Look into the definition and development of new product offerings that deliver new value and achieve our product experience objectives and business objectives.
A strong aesthetic sense and manifest a brand dimensionally in a way that stimulates people’s senses and emotions.
Have excellent form development ability, manifesting a brands tone and identity through product form.
Demonstrate a mastery of technical skills: 3D modelling CAD ; sketching; color, material & finish, rapid sketch development, and excellent visualization in Keyshot or equivalent.
Develop 3D surface models of high complexity and sophistication that are both aesthetically accurate and technically feasible.
Innovate within known high and low volume manufacturing techniques, specifying materials, architecture, mechanisms, colour and surface finish.
Develop design presentations.
Organize the creative process through the facilitation of concept ideation sessions, brainstorms, and creative discussions.
Manage projects by creating work plans, project timelines and communicating and managing them effectively.
Bachelor degree or higher diploma in a relevant design course (Product design, industrial design, or other related field).
Have at least 5 - 8+ years of experience in the capacity of an industrial designer producing work of only the highest quality.
Have a strong understanding of the human-centered design process.
Have a strong capacity for critical thought and information synthesis.
A high level of self-motivation and initiative.
