Mid Weight Designer
Our client is an award- winning product design consultancy based in Cambridge. They are seeking a talented mid-weight product designer to work directly with the Creative Directors. You will gain valuable experience across a variety of different design briefs, from early product conception, to manufacture and marketing direction.
About The Studio:
The consultancy has forged a reputation for effortlessly executed, user-centred product innovation. You will be working for exciting clients on diverse projects that span consumer goods to electric scooters.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be an influential part of the design team and given the freedom to liaise directly with clients as part of the project management. You will formulate creative solutions to briefs, collaborate and learn from the team to develop chosen designs right the way through to manufacture.
Ideal Candidate:
- Will have a degree in Industrial design along with 2 + years experience post-graduation.
- Exposure to a range of materials and production techniques, with a good understanding of plastic injection moulding.
- Ability to work at pace on a variety of projects.
Duties Include:
- User research (online and in-person)
- Idea generation, both individually and as a team
- Sketching and visually communicating ideas using Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- 3D CAD
- Compelling visuals using Keyshot/SW Visualise)
- Prototyping
