An international, award winning, City based, mid-sized architectural practice is looking for an office based, HR Manager. This role will be part time (3 days – with some flexibility needed around this). This is working for a forward-thinking design practice who have an outstanding reputation in the marketplace.
Responsibilities and duties:
Advising Directors on Employment law
Promoting equality and diversity as part of the practice culture
Organising and overseeing recruitment
Onboarding, induction and end of employment
Preparing and issuing offers of employment and contracts
Overseeing staff training and keeping relevant records
Organising and keeping records of staff reviews
Working with project leaders to evaluate and manage staff performance, and making recom-mendations for improvement to the Board
Managing leave
Managing absence and return to work
Managing grievances and disciplinary procedures
Managing redundancies
Qualifications and Skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Comprehensive understanding of, and ability to analyse, interpret and explain employment law and health & safety legislation
Be CIPD qualified or equivalent
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and to prioritise workload
Good teamworking and collaboration
Personal integrity, approachability and ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
Strong IT skills and a good understanding of general office software and hardware
Candidates should have five years’ experience in a similar role and will preferably have several years’ experience of working in the construction and design industry. They must demonstrate business awareness and management skills.
