A prestigious membership organisation is looking for a Head of Programming to lead on the conception and delivery of their programme, ensuring alignment and integration across the business, meeting the needs of their audiences and stakeholders.

The Head of Programming will manage the programme team, systems and processes to ensure the programme attracts and engages its audience reach through targeted communication channels. You will build strategies that will define and shape the future programmes.

Our client engages with government, business, and the public to educate, challenge, connect and create positive change. Their activities include research, publications, events, exhibitions, websites and social media platforms, awards and much more.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all content and communications relating to the Programme to ensure high-quality outputs which meet the needs of the client’s network and expand audience reach

  • Lead on the development and implementation of the 3 year plan for client, including the commercial, content and communications strategies

  • Manage strategic meetings to support the quality of the programme

  • Oversee on the planning and delivery of the annual awards programme and annual conference

  • Responsible for the overall annual Content Form for all activity across the business

  • Manage the P&L reforecasting each month to deliver gross margin performance

  • Work with the Director to set out programme schedule,  ensuring delivery against plan, and reporting progress in line with the budget.

  • Responsible for the delegation and planning of all programmed outputs across the team

  • Oversee weekly programme meetings and meetings with the various team.

  • Lead on all internal and external programme documentation, ensuring all stakeholders have clear visibility on activities

  • Collaborate with Directors and Management Team, and Programme Managers to achieve the vision and goals in line with clients values

  • Support direct line reports to achieve their business goals and personal development objectives

  • Spokesperson for the media, on panels and chair events

Person Specification:

  • Prior experience in a similar programming role within a membership organisation

  • Expertise in the Built Environment Industry would be an advantage

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Previous experience of delivering a broad programme of activity

  • Good management skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • The ability to prioritise effectively, managing a busy diary and varied workload to meet demands and deadlines

  • Strong team player, good presenter and motivator.
