Furniture Design

A growing, high-end furniture design business, who focus on vintage and Scandinavian furniture designs, are looking to hire a financial controller to join their operations team to help support their business growth. This is a pivotal role for them and a time of significant growth, so it is an exciting time to join them and an opportunity to make the role your own.

This is an office-based role in North London (with some flexibility)

The duties are as follows:

  • Balance sheet & bank reconciliation
  • Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensuring legal requirements compliance
  • Ensuring VAT and HMRC compliance
  • Producing full management account packs
  • Working closely with the Managing Director in project-based work, including providing ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends
  • Producing and analysing P&L reports
  • Leading the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Preparation and monitoring of weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Preparation and reconciliation of VAT returns

An ideal candidate will have: -

  • 3+ years experience in bookkeeping and preferably in a management role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail
  • Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently when needed Immediately available / Full time
  • Used Xero/SAP/SAGE or similar accountancy package
  • Ideally from a creative environment
