In addition to the dancing house, Prague’s other architectural attractions includes the St Vitus Cathedral and Astronomical Clock Tower (Orloj). The St Vitus Cathedral took over 600 years to build and is Prague’s most prominent example of gothic architecture with its grand façade captivating visitor’s attention within the Prague Castle grounds.

The other iconic building Orloj is the Astronomical Clock Tower located in the Old Town Square and was once considered one of the wonders of the world. A so-called legend said that it was designed by the clockmaker Jan Růže, and to make sure he was not able to reproduce his work, the Prague councillors had him blinded! To avenge his righteousness, he disabled the clock so that no one could figure out how to correct it for the next hundred years.

The Old Town Square also hosts one of Prague’s main annual Christmas markets, filled with mini games and indulging mulled wine and ßratwurst! A couple of wines later the square is lit up with a spectacular light display, beaming from the art museum across to the clock tower.
